GOP checks sentiment on I-80 tolls

Republican Party organizations along the Interstate 80 corridor have come up with a topical way to attract people to their fair tents, and you'll see it at this year's Grange Fair in Centre Hall.

G.T. Thompson, Centre County Republican chair, said Sunday that the party will take a survey of whether people want, or do not want, tolls on I-80, as set forth in the recently pass state transportation bill, Act 44.

Thompson said the Clinton County Republican Committee set up a similar sign-up survey at its Clinton County Fair tent, and up to 800 more people than usual stopped by the tent.
