Fiesta dreams

Preseason college football polls are crazy, but a preseason bowl outlook?

That's just what I found today in breezing through sports stuff. This bowl projection is by Ted Stephens of the Orlando Sentinel.

Prepare yourself, Penn State fans. Many of us still talk glowing about those Fiesta Bowls. I went to three; how many did you attend?

Prepare yourself for this one, courtesy of Stephens, and dream:

Fiesta . ....Glendale, Ariz. . .. ..Jan. 5 . ...Fox . ...BCS vs. BCS . . .West Virginia vs. Penn St. . ...These schools met every year from 1947-92, but rivalry stopped when Penn State joined Big Ten.

To complete the story, the writer has Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and Oklahoma facing USC for the BCS championship.

But you'd take the Fiesta Bowl, wouldn't you? Just so you know, it's moved to an incredible spaceship-like dome in Glendale, near the Margaritaville.

Almost heaven, don't you think?

While we're daydreaming let's go one better: How about Penn State/Pitt in the Fiesta?

Wouldn't it be ironic if JoePa's last game (not that I'm wishing that) were against Pitt?
