The latest Capitol outrage

Tomorrow's a big day in Harrisburg. Gov. Ed Rendell's day in the sun, so to speak, and all of the new-found reformers will look their best and smile.

They'll try to ignore the latest Capitol outrage -- that three Harrisburg-area departing legislators made off with $37,000 in per diems.

Yep, they went ahead and took the perks that should only go to legislators who live away from the Capitol and need expense money for meals and lodging.

How do you spell O-U-T-R-A-G-E on this Monday?

These ex-legislators -- Sen. David Brightbill and Rep. Peter Zug of Lebanon County, and Rep. Mark McNaughton of suburban Harrisburg -- should be billed by the state to get this money back.

And the new reformers should use this outrageous abuse as an example of something that never should happen in Harrisburg again.

Of course, it will take a major overhaul of Harrisburg culture to stop this from happening. A major overhaul, and as we've said we won't believe any reform until we actually see it.

I can't help but feeling that if these former legislators were democrats, they would have been identified as such. No surprise here that you made no mention that these reprobates are all republicans. Very "Fox News" of you.
